9 Mistakes That Will Make Your Brochure Less Attractive
1. Missing headlines
People would generally not be interested in reading large chunks of text. The entire content should be broken into small paragraphs and headings. People generally read a brochure, and if you are not using headlines, then they may miss the most important points.
2. Too much text
One of the most common brochure design mistakes is to dump too much text into a limited space. This will make your brochure look long, boring, and not easy to read.
3. Too many colours
A colorful brochure always looks attractive but too much colour will spoil the look and feel of the brochure. Using colors does not mean at all that you start using irritating colors. Bold and lively colours are fine but if they do not match or do not make a good contrast, they will kill the entire design of your brochure.
4. Poor typography
Typography means the art of choosing and arranging fonts, sizes, colours, and styles to create a visual hierarchy and harmony in your brochure. Typically, poor typography can make your brochure look unprofessional, confusing, or inconsistent.
5. Poor Image Quality
Poor-quality images or images with low or no resolution are the first signs of a poorly designed brochure. Always choose high-quality, high-resolution photos. Don’t use images taken from mobile phones. They will make your company brochure unprofessional.
6. Don’t flood countless pictures
It is correct that people are interested in seeing visuals, but that does not mean that your brochure should be flooded with images. It is easy to grab your customer’s attention via brochures and it is a perfect tool if you use them wisely
7. Spelling and grammar mistakes
Spelling and grammatical mistakes will spoil the entire marketing material or brochure. Make sure that the content is checked thoroughly before sending it to print or publishing.
8. No call to action
Another common brochure design mistake is to have no call to action or to have a weak or vague call to action.
9. Absence of logical flow in the brochure
Check if your brochures lack logical flow. Think of your brochure as a systematic arrangement of events in which every step links to another one. Information has to be in a good flow in the brochure.
